Take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level with this six-week course focused on double-walled forms! Perfect for potters looking to expand their techniques, this class will guide you through creating functional and decorative pieces that require a double-wall structure.
What You’ll Learn:
Week 1: Start with small forms—ring holders and citrus juicers—to understand the basics of double-walled construction.
Week 2: Expand to functional serving ware with chip & dip bowls and elegant cake stands.
Week 3: Experiment with sculptural forms by throwing donut vases.
Week 4: Push your skills further with refined double-walled vases.
Week 5: Dedicated workday to refine and complete projects.
Week 6: Glaze your finished pieces to bring them to life.
This course is best suited for students with prior wheel-throwing experience who are comfortable centering and throwing basic forms. Join us and explore the exciting possibilities of double-wall ceramics!
Included in the class:
2.5 hr. weekly classes over a 6-week period
A free 12 lb bag of B Mix clay
Tools and glazes
Firing of your class pottery work
2 hours a day of access to the studio during open studio hours Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm
Students can purchase more clay during class or open studio hours
Includes firing for up to 12 pieces, additional pieces can be fired for an additional fee.
